We enhance teaching and learning by offering lots of opportunities to develop the ‘whole’ child.

St. Joseph’s provides opportunities for children to develop independence and resilience by taking part in outdoor and adventurous activities and residentials.

They are given the opportunity to find out about how our country is governed and to visit places of national significance through our KS2 visits to London and Edinburgh.

Children learn to swim and take part in a number of competitive sporting events.

Visits to the theatre and theatre group visits into school allow the children to have first-hand experience of dramatic arts.

We have artists, musicians, historians and authors into school to enhance provision and raise aspirations.

Through termly curriculum enrichment days, children are given the opportunity to work with their peers as well as children from other classes. This year’s ‘Art Day’ was a real success!

We believe that our curriculum offers children the opportunity to take part in a wide range of experiences and in doing so, offers all children the opportunity to share and develop their own, God given talents.
