Dear Parents,

I regularly say how proud I am of our children. They have had a very difficult half term but whether at home or in school, they have shown their resilience, enthusiasm and love of learning. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you as parents for all your continued support, good wishes and messages of thanks. My thanks go to you also for the crucial role you play in supporting your children with their learning which I know hasn’t been easy due to the many other challenges you face as a family. I understand you are doing your best at home. Please be reassured that your efforts are much appreciated and that as much work as you and your child can manage is all that we ask.

Dear Parents,

 This week’s Gospel Reading

A reading from the Gospel according to Mark 1:29-39

On leaving the synagogue, Jesus went with James and John straight to the house of Simon and Andrew. Now Simon’s mother-in-law had gone to bed with fever, and they told him about her straightaway. He went to her, took her by the hand and helped her up and the fever left her and she began to wait on them.

That evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick. The whole town came crowding round the door, and he cured many who were suffering from diseases of one kind or another.

Dear Parents,                                                                                                                                                     A busy week in school. The rain on Wednesday and Thursday certainly caused a few issues! Lots of pictures of the local area under water. Thank goodness, it seems to have drained away. Thank you to those staff who had quite a battle in getting in yesterday with some quite lengthy detours!

Dear Parents,

This week’s Gospel reading comes from John.

The next day as John stood there again with two of his disciples, Jesus went past, and John looked towards him and said, ‘Look, there is the lamb of God.’ And the two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned round, saw them following and said, ‘What do you want?’ They answered, ‘Rabbi’ — which means Teacher — ‘where do you live? He replied, ‘Come and see’; so they went and saw where he lived, and stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour. One of these two who became followers of Jesus after hearing what John had said was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and say to him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ — which means the Christ- and he took Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, ‘You are Simon son of John; you are to be called Cephas’ — which means Rock.
