Newsletter 11th May 2020

11th May 2020Louise AYTON

Dear Parents,

I am sure you will have watched the Prime Minister’s announcement last night. With regard to getting children back to school, there is a lot more guidance needed before we know exactly how and when this will happen. In the meantime, provision at St Joseph’s will remain as it is at present. We are open every day to children of key workers and to other identified children. If you think your child might be eligible for a place, don’t hesitate to give school a ring.

Internet Safety during Lockdown

Keep Children Safe Online During Lockdown  (https://bit.ly/2VRGQ2p)

Cleveland Police are warning parents to be vigilant when allowing their children to use mobile phones and tablets unattended during the lockdown period.

Children are likely to be reliant on the internet to keep in touch with friends on different apps, however, offenders will be exploiting this opportunity to target children.

We know parents are concerned about some disturbing video content online, for example, on You Tube and You Tube for Kids.

Watch our short clip from our Cyber Crime Team on how to keep your child safe. You can also visit www.nspcc.org.uk or www.nationalonlinesafety.com

Dear Parents,

Another week at home. This is certainly a strange time for us all but I would just like to say thank you to staff for their hard work, to children for some of the fantastic examples of work that they have done and to parents for supporting children with their work.

Sports Day timings for tomorrow are:

🏅 Early Years – 10:00am
🏅 Rest of School – 1:15pm

To help everyone stay cool, we will be selling cold drinks throughout the event for 50p for carton drinks and £1 for cans and bottles.

At the end of Sports Day, there will also be a cake stall, with cakes priced at 50p each or 3 for £1. All money raised from the cake stall will go towards our Year 6 Sleepover Event next month, so we'd be very grateful for your support.

We look forward to seeing lots of families there and hope for a wonderful day of sunshine, smiles and sporting success!
