Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our First Holy Communicants. They enjoyed a really special day on Sunday along with their families. After Mass, the children enjoyed a lovely celebration at school. There was so much food they had enough for class celebration on Monday! A huge thank you to Mrs Lightfoot and Mrs Smith for preparing the children so well and to parents for their support.

Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of term, the weeks seem to be getting busier!

This Sunday, the Church celebrates the great feast of Corpus Christi (the body of Christ). This is traditionally a time when children make their first Holy Communion.

Dear Parents,
May Procession.
The May procession at Church on Sunday was a lovely occasion and our Communion group led it for us. Nikita was a wonderful May Queen supported by Pollyanna Thomson, Macey Dixon, Emilia Witkowska and Ziva Rose Teleron Smith and Ben Wood was the Crown Bearer.
Thanks to all of the children and Mrs Lightfoot and Mrs Smith for organising it.

Dear Parents,
We hear about the time that Jesus was teaching in the Temple in this week’s Gospel. Jesus was asked what should happen to a woman who had broken the law. Jesus’ reply was that they could only condemn her if they had done no wrong. Jesus told her not to sin again. We all have the opportunity to make a fresh start and lent is traditionally a time for making a new start.
Ask your child how they are getting on with their Lenten promises.
A huge thanks to those who have returned your red Mission boxes. Please can you return on Monday if you haven’t yet. If you don’t have a box, any donations are welcome and will be sent off to Mission Together, a charity that supports families overseas.

Friday Newsletter 22nd March 2019

26th March 2019Louise AYTON

Dear Parents,
The season of Lent presents a great opportunity to reflect and examine our consciences. In this Sunday’s Gospel we hear a story that Jesus told about a fig tree. The fig tree represents us and reminds us that we are all called to change, to grow and to love as Jesus loved.
We have had a very busy week in school this week. We had a lovely Mass to celebrate St Joseph’s day on Tuesday. The children were wonderful as usual and our young FS1 children deserve a special mention as they were so well behaved.
A huge thanks to those who sent flowers in to adorn our statue of St Joseph’s, they looked lovely Father Simon has taken some of them today to share with parishioners.
